Today, Curbed NY and the Curbed flagship join New York as the magazine’s home for coverage of cities and city life. We can’t imagine a better fit. When New York Magazine was founded in 1968, its absolute focus was New York City life: its politics, accents, art, social dynamics, and best lo mein. In 2020, the magazine still has New York City at its center.
For nearly 16 years, Curbed NY has documented the ever-evolving shape of New York City. We began as a tiny blog, and thanks to the wit, obsession, and style of innumerable writers and editors, we grew into one of the city’s must-read publications.
Like New York, Curbed will be based in NYC and largely focused on the city’s architecture and design, neighborhoods and characters, real estate and policy, power brokers and rabble-rousers. This means that starting today, we’ll no longer publish new stories on Curbed NY. But don’t worry, because all of the reporting, criticism, analysis, and provocation you know and love will continue on our newly redesigned site. You can read more about our reimagining of Curbed in our letter from the editors, and, of course, you’ll always be able to find your favorite oldies but goodies in the Curbed NY archives.
